Dental Care Sponsorship Program for the Needy
Secondary School Students and Their Families

(Sponsored by the Community Chest of Hong Kong)


Program Background

According to the statistics of Department of Health, 90% of Hong Kong people have periodontal disease.  60% of Hong Kong students at the age of 12 have the accumulation of calculus and 96% of them will be developed into periodontal disease.   Therefore, this program is launched to provide basic dental care service to those needy secondary school students and their families.

 

Target Beneficiaries

1. Secondary one to six students under either one of the following government financial assistance schemes are eligible to join this program:
   - School Textbook Assistance Scheme
   - Student Travel Subsidy Scheme
   - Subsidy Scheme for Internet Access Charges

2. The family members (siblings and parents) of the above secondary school students


Service Content

Each eligible person have to pay $55 for the following
- oral consultation
- Either one of the basic dental treatment, include scaling, filling and extraction



How to join the program?

1. Eligible person can bring either a student card or stduent handbook, and the docoument proof of one of the above government financial assistance schemes
2. For eligible family members, they have to present their HKID card and birth cerficate of the eligible secondary school students
