1960's
1961: Project Concern was founded by Dr. James W. Turpin
1962: First clinic began operation in the Walled City
1963: Yauh Oi floating clinic officially opened
1965: Became member agency of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service
1969: Became member agency of the Community Chest
1970's
1970: Opening of Tsz Wan Shan out-patient clinic
1971: Dental service began at Tsz Wan Shan clinic
1973: Sau Mau Ping chest clinic was opened
1978: Opening of Sau Mau Ping clinic
1979: The first mobile dental vehicle was in service
1980's
1981: Opening of Choi Wan Estate dental clinic
1982: Opening of Yuen Long dental clinic, and the second mobile dental vehicle was in service
1983: Shuen Wan general out-patient was set up and the opening of Hing Man Estate dental clinic
1985: Incorporated as a non-profit charitable organization and named as “Project Concern Hong Kong”
and the opening of Pak Tin and Lei Cheng Uk Estate dental clinic
1990's
1990: Started the on-site dental service at welfare centres
1992: Mobile Eye Station was launched
1998: The Zonta Club of Hong Kong Health Centre was set up in Tsz Wan
2000's
2001: Relocation of Sau Mau Ping dental clinic to Yat Tung Estate of Tung Chung
and relocation of Yuen Long dental clinic to Tin Yuet Estate of Tin Shui Wai
2002: Yat Tung Estate dental clinic and resource centre was in operation
2010-2015
2010: The third mobile dental vehicle was in service
2012: The first Chinese medicine clinic was set up in Tsz Wan Shan
2013: The Mobile Eye Service was relocated to Tsz Wan Shan Eye clinic and
Lei Cheng Uk Health Education and Resource Centre
2014: An outreach team was formed to carry out the “Outreach Dental Care Program of the Elderly”
which was awarded by the Department of Health
2015: Co-organized “Love Teeth Days” with The University of Hong Kong School of Dentistry
2016-2019
2016: “Elementary Dental Surgery Assistant Course” and “Intermediate Dental Surgery Assistant Course”
was jointly offered by Lingnan Institute of Further Education
The 2-year “Jockey Club Smiley Action Programme” was launched and funded by
the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
2018: The first “Certificate in Dental Surgery Assisting Program was jointly offered by Lingnan Institute of
Further Education (Qualifications Framework Level 3)
2019: Opening of Shau Kei Wan dental clinic
2020 to now
2020: ”Care for Your Health Program” funded by Jockey Club Community Sustainability Fund
was carried out
2021: HSBC Hong Kong Community Partnership Program sponsored the “Care for Your Eyes Program”
Li Ka Shing Foundation sponsored the Chinese medicine treatment sponsorship program
2022: Pak Tin Estate dental clinic at G/F, Block 11 was relocated to the welfare clinic
at G/F, Hong Tin House.
The second Chinese Medicine Clinic at Pak Tin Estate was in service.
